Ms. Benoit’s Classroom Policies and Information
Math policy:
- 10 minutes of multiplication/division FACTS practice, until memorized through 12’s.
Math tests- students can correct these to get PARTIAL credit back. Do not erase anything on original test. Redo problems on a separate sheet of paper and staple it the original test and turn in. No points will be given back if the original work is erased.
Follow these directions to redo Math Tests:
1. Do NOT erase test answers.
2. Staple a lined paper to the test and redo the questions showing work.
Reading Block
Stations
- The students work on mostly independent reading stations for about 45-60 minutes a day. These packets are worth about 40 points a week.
- 20 minutes of reading a book is required each night.
Social Studies
We will have a test at the end of every chapter about every two weeks. Every Region will have 2 chapters, and students will also be testing on states and capitals for each Region. The states and capitals test will be on the same day of the 2nd chapter for each Region. They must be able to match capitals but also write the state on a blank map.

- Every 3 weeks or so, I send home progress reports/missing assignment reports that need to be signed and returned to make sure you know how your child is doing. However you can check IC anytime you want.
Snacks
We have snack time; the students can bring their own snack. Please don’t send in whole class snacks, we won't pass out classroom snacks. I ask them to eat 1 thing for snack, not their whole lunch. Snacks shouldn’t need silverware, a microwave or be wet/messy.
